When Windows first boots up, I am getting the progression bar but no splash screen. I d not have enough video card to enable aero.
Shouldn''t there be a splash screen during this time at least telling me it is Windows Vista similar to the one that is displayed when XP boots up?
Thanks
Bob

Splash screen
mine does the same thing periodically. It's there, it just may not display for some reason or another. Look for this to be resolved (hopefully) in later builds

Why is there no splash screen when Vista first boots up, I see nothing on the screen but a black background and the progression bar in black and white only.
I do not have enough hardware to run aero. Is that the reason or will there be one in the future?
I believe it has been mentioned that there used to be a logo/boot screen but it was removed...
I HATE haveing a black screen, especially after the progression bar leaves but before the desktop loads. I have been close to resetting the computer a couple of times.

By the time Vista is RTM it will have a splash screen. It may well have one in time for RC1.

The screen you see is the logo screen but the logo has been removed. Out to the cleaners.
